Design for Manufacturability Analysis

We can design the products according to our customer’s samples or ideas. Our engineers have rich experiences in product design. We use latest AUTOCAD softwares. We can test our design by simulated analysis to make sure the design work in good term.

Design is key to the success of any product and should be given the utmost consideration.
CEMAL integrates Mold Flow analysis software into our plastic product design process. This software simulates how melted plastic flows during the injection molding process. This helps predict manufacturing-related defects before they get molded, predicting how a mold might function and where it might fail before production takes place, improving part quality and saving you lots of money, time and stress by avoiding costly design errors before they occur.

Our understanding of the correct mold design needed to support your material selection and tolerance requirements allows us to build the right tool for the job. We offer unique solutions to your product problems. Working with information age technologies and advanced mold-making processes, CEMAL is able to quickly respond to your tooling needs and produce precision custom injection molds in the shortest time period.

We can work with a variety of software: UG, Pro/E, AutoCAD and CATIA, etc. We use universal formats such as IGES, STEP, DXF, DWG, parasolid (x_t), and many others.

Design for Manufacturability Analysis

Design for Manufacturability (DFM), or more specifically analysis of a part design for its suitability to being injection molded, is performed to achieve the following:

  • Minimize Tooling Costs

  • Reduce Design Changes

  • Expedite the Manufacturing Process

  • Ensure Part Quality

Design for manufacturing Injection Molding
CEMAL performs a manufacturability analysis on each injection molding project.  Upon receiving a quote request and an appropriate 3D design file, we will perform an initial analysis to be sure that the requested component is an appropriate candidate for injection molding.

Our objective is to produce the component as closely as possible to the original design intent. However, in some instances modifications are needed to accommodate the fundamental requirements of good injection molding practice.  In these cases, we discuss with clients suggested improvements to the design, or measures we may need to take in the production process, prior to initiating the mold production process.  This provides our customers with cost savings by minimizing tooling costs and design changes up front, and reduces overall project time.
